Position Overview
HHSC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a Technical Project Manager on a data engineering project involving an AI adoption program. The Project Manager will lead cross-functional coordination, requirements gathering, project planning, deliverable tracking, status reporting, and implementation activities while ensuring alignment between business, engineering, data, and AI stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing complex data, analytics, cloud, business intelligence, and healthcare technology initiatives, along with expertise in project governance, budgeting, resource planning, and stakeholder management.

Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience managing complex projects; 10+ years of Project Management experience preferred/required for submission.
- 10+ years of Healthcare industry experience.
- PMP certification required.
- Experience leading technical projects/programs involving data, analytics, and cloud environments.
- Experience leading data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing initiatives from planning through delivery.
- Strong experience managing BI, big data, and analytics projects in complex enterprise environments.
- Experience with healthcare data initiatives; familiarity with FHIR, CCDA, and HL7 is a plus.
- Working knowledge of SQL and database technologies.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to business and executive stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, vendors, and complex project timelines.
- Experience working with data engineers, developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Experience defining project scope, objectives, milestones, timelines, and success metrics.
- Experience with project budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or Smartsheet.
- Strong documentation skills, including project plans, charters, schedules, and lessons learned.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms, data systems, and enterprise applications.
- Proactive leadership style with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare or other regulated environments, including compliance, security, and data governance.
- Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, or SAFe.
- Understanding of information management, IT processes, SDLC, architecture, and enterprise technologies.
- Strong consulting, facilitation, and customer-facing communication skills.
- Experience supporting AI, advanced analytics, or digital transformation initiatives.
- TOGAF, Cloud Solution Architecture, or Azure/AWS/Google Cloud Platform certifications.
