This is Software Engineer opening, not a Data Engineer opening. Candidate must have strong hands-on coding skills in either Java or Python development.

About the Role:
As a Backend Engineer on our team, you'll be expected to lead by example, write great code, solve difficult problems, set a high bar for the team around you and help them achieve engineering excellence. We want you to execute on your ideas, challenge the status quo and generally make things better. You will need the soft skills too; Communication, influence, and passion are critical to the success of the team and ultimately the company.
Responsibilities:
? Work on an Agile development team to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using deep expertise in distributed microservices, big-data technologies (HIVE, Presto, Spark, Hadoop, etc.) and full-stack systems.
? Collaborate with the cross-functional team to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios and deliver technical solutions to those objectives.
? Develop API platform to serve big data at interactive speed; built on AWS using AWS Well-architected principles.
? Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, and participate in internal & external technology communities to drive innovation.
? Demonstrate growth mindset, ownership, customer obsession, and strong judgement.
Required Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or other relevant Engineering field.
? 5+ years experience in Software Engineering.
? 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or SQL and databases
? 3+ years of experience working with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Presto)
? 3+ years REST/web services experience and writing complex SQL queries
? 3+ years of experience building on Amazon AWS Services
? Experience working with the following technology stack: Amazon Web Services (AWS), EMR Hive/Presto, ECS, Lambda, S3, DevOps and CI/CD, Jenkins, CloudFormation
? Basic understanding of one or more scripting languages (Unix Shell, Python, Perl, etc.)
