Summary
Our direct client is looking for a MS Access and SQL Server Developer for a Hybrid long term contract in Concord, NH
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- LOCAL CANDIDATES REQUIRED- This is a HYBRID position requiring 4 days/week ONSITE. Only submit LOCAL candidates who are willing to work 4 days/week onsite as required.
- ONSITE INTERVIEW- Candidates must be willing and able to go to the client location for an ONSITE, IN-PERSON interview if selected for interview.
- KEY SKILLS -The dominant skill set needs are Access & SQL Server, including Access ADP knowledge and SSIS. The job is to rewrite Access ADP applications that link to SQL Server backend to Access ACCDB format, then migrate them to different servers.
- HOURS PER WEEK - Position will have a 37.5-hour work week, NOT a 40-hour work week
- REFERENCES - Please send a Word document that includes contact info for THREE professional references. - These roles support the NH Fish & Game Dept - candidates MUST be comfortable working in an environment that supports and encourages hunting, fishing, trapping, wildlife management, and shares a building work area with Law Enforcement. This includes a physical office environment that may be decorated and housing taxidermy mounts and animal pelts. Ensure you discuss this environment with your candidate BEFORE submitting them.
- EXCEPTIONAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS REQUIRED- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to be considered for this position.
J0B DESCRIPTION:
- Selected resource will be responsible for working with the current development team to support and upgrade the current portfolio of critical agency applications.
- The person in this role will be responsible for rewriting Access ADP applications that link to SQL Server backend to Access ACCDB format, then migrating those applications to different servers.
Specifically, you will:
- Work closely with the current agency development team to update the portfolio of applications from the MS Access project file format (ADP) to MS Access database file (ACCDB) and from MS SQL Server 2008 to MS SQL Server 2016 or higher, including the use of SSIS jobs. There is potential to develop using ASP.net as well.
- Contribute to the determination of the future technical path for the agency application portfolio.
- Help maintain best practices for documentation and code management.
- Work closely with our internal developers and service providers to ensure the applications are stable and reliable.
- Work to provide our customers with the best transformation experience possible.
What is required:
- Strong technical skills in MS Access and MS SQL Server based application development and support, to include end user support of applications.
- Experience with Access ADP and SQL SSIS jobs
- Skills in developing complex VBA scripts and ASP.net development.
- Strong communication and collaboration with both IT peers and agency personnel of varying levels of technical knowledge.
Work experience:
- Hands on experience migrating from legacy database applications for both on premise and cloud environments
- Commitment to the highest customer service and ethical standards

Question 7: This position requires an additional CJIS level background check with fingerprinting which will be coordinated by the agency with the selected candidate. If contractually required background checks run by the vendor for the selected candidate come back clear, candidate can start with limited access while awaiting CJIS results. Continued employment will be contingent upon CJIS check coming back clear. Confirm you discussed this with your candidate and they accept this requirement.
