Job Title: Application Support Specialist
Location: Plano, TX
Work Arrangement: 3 day in office with 2 day WFH
Client Industry: Banking
Duration: 12 -18 months Contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday
About the Role
Day-to-Day:
- Provide production application support for Futures and Options Clearing systems.
- Monitor production systems using tools such as ITRS Geneos, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
- Triage and manage production incidents, ensuring rapid service restoration and clear communication to stakeholders.
- Perform root cause analysis for complex issues and document resolutions and preventative actions.
- Work with development and infrastructure teams to support deployments, system changes, and server upgrades.
- Monitor system health and perform capacity management and performance assessments.
- Analyze logs, system metrics, and batch processes to diagnose system issues.
- Support problem, incident, and change management processes aligned with ITIL practices.
- Collaborate with global MAPS teams across multiple regions to maintain consistent service delivery.
Must-Have:
- 10+ years of production/application support experience within banking or financial services environments.
- Strong experience supporting systems on iSeries platforms.
- Working knowledge of RPG and CL programming on AS400 systems.
- Experience supporting databases such as DB2 and SQL.
- Strong understanding of incident, problem, capacity, and change management processes.
- Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Geneos, Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar.
- Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot systems using Unix/Linux commands.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: 65$-68$ per hour
This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
