System Architect, Rate $40/Hr on C2C Remote Role.

Position Overview

The System Architect will be responsible for designing, governing, and overseeing scalable, secure, and high-performing application and data architectures. This role plays a critical part in modernizing enterprise systems and supporting the migration from legacy on-premise platforms to cloud-based environments.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in cloud-native architectures, data engineering, and enterprise system design, along with the ability to provide technical leadership and collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Design & Implementation

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance application and data architectures.

• Ensure alignment with business requirements, operational goals, and enterprise architecture standards.

• Establish and document reference architectures for cloud-native, hybrid, and on-premise environments.

Cloud & Modernization Initiatives

• Lead migration efforts from legacy systems to cloud-based platforms.

• Design solutions using containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

• Provide architectural guidance for hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Data Architecture & Engineering

• Define enterprise data architecture strategies and target-state designs.

• Lead data migration initiatives from legacy systems (e.g., Oracle-based platforms) to modern data platforms.

• Support development of data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics platforms.

• Design and guide both batch and real-time data integration patterns (ETL/ELT, streaming pipelines).

Analytics & Data Platforms

• Provide architectural oversight for modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, cloud-based analytics solutions).

• Support integration of transactional systems with analytics and reporting platforms.

• Enable readiness for advanced analytics and AI/ML initiatives.

DevOps & CI/CD

• Design and govern CI/CD pipelines for application and data platform deployments.

• Ensure repeatable, reliable, and secure deployment processes across environments.

• Support DevOps best practices and automation strategies.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with developers, data engineers, cloud architects, and operations teams.

• Provide technical leadership, solution design reviews, and architectural governance.

• Guide both technical and non-technical stakeholders in decision-making.

Governance & Documentation

• Develop and maintain architectural standards, documentation, and best practices.

• Conduct periodic architecture reviews and ensure compliance with governance and security policies.

• Evaluate technical solutions and provide recommendations for improvement.

Reporting & Communication

• Provide regular status updates on progress, risks, and issues.

• Participate in and facilitate technical and project meetings.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a System Architect or in a similar senior technical role.

• Proven experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale application and data architectures.

Required Technical Skills

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

• Strong understanding of cloud-native and hybrid architectures.

• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

Development & Tools

• Proficiency in .NET Core, Python, and C#.

• Experience with source control systems (e.g., Git).

• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.

Data & Integration

• Experience with enterprise data architecture and data migration strategies.

• Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and real-time data integration.

• Familiarity with streaming and messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Service Bus).

Analytics Platforms

• Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or similar.

DevOps

• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and deployment automation.
