Senior Cloud Information System Security Officer

Our organization is in search of a driven and customer-focused Senior Cloud Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to become part of our team located in Washington, D.C., Chantilly, VA, or Quantico, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily implementation, monitoring, and upkeep of security configurations, practices, and procedures for each Information System (IS).
• Act as a liaison between the system owner and other personnel involved in IS security.
• Ensure that the chosen security controls are effectively implemented and functioning as intended throughout all stages of the IS lifecycle. Maintain, review, and update system security documentation continuously.
• Perform necessary IS vulnerability scans based on risk assessment criteria and coordinate with system owners for corrective or mitigation actions.
• Create Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs) in response to identified security vulnerabilities. Manage risks to ISs and other organizational assets by coordinating appropriate corrective actions and ensuring timely completion of POAMs.
• Monitor security controls for FBI ISs to uphold security Authorized to Operate (ATO) status. Upload all evidence of security controls to the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) application to support implementation during the monitoring phase.
• Report any changes to an FBI IS, its environment, or operational needs that may impact authorization status to the system owner and IS Security Manager (ISSM). Coordinate the decommissioning of ISs with the system owner, ISSM, and ISSR.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of seven years of experience as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) or in a similar capacity at a cleared facility.
• At least eight years of experience in the Information Technology field, with a bachelor s degree; six years with a master s degree; ten years with an associate s degree; or twelve years with a high school diploma.
• Must hold a current DoD 8140 certification.
• Experience with security tools such as Tenable Nessus, Security Center, IBM Guardium, HP WebInspect, Network Mapper (NMAP), or similar applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A bachelor s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must possess a current/active Top Secret security clearance and be willing to obtain SCI eligibility before commencing this role.
• The selected candidate may be required to undergo a Polygraph examination.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
• Occasional movement within the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Regularly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as calculators, copiers, and printers.
• Frequently position oneself to maintain computers in the lab, including under desks and in server closets.
• Regular communication with colleagues, management, and clients, which may involve delivering presentations.
• Must be capable of exchanging accurate information in these interactions.
