Summary

We are seeking a technically skilled Nutanix Product Engineer to join our Platform Architecture team. This role is responsible for defining the architecture, configuration standards, and development tasks required to bring Nutanix-based products to market as structured IaaS and PaaS services - spanning AHV private cloud, DRaaS, Nutanix AI, Nutanix Database Service (NDB), and Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP). The engineer will work closely with other Platform Architects and Product Engineers and will directly participate in BETA-phase deployments alongside Service Delivery and Implementation teams to validate designs and collect client feedback.

Expedient is a managed infrastructure and cloud services provider helping businesses transform their IT operations through hybrid cloud, infrastructure modernization, and increasingly through applied AI. Expedient occupies a unique position between infrastructure operations and applied AI delivery. We hold ourselves to a clear set of values that show up in how we work every day: we exhibit passion, embrace teamwork, demonstrate accountability, show adaptability, and stay focused on results. If that sounds like the kind of team you want to build with, we would love to hear from you.

What You'll do:
  • Service Architecture & Design: Define technical architecture and configuration standards for Nutanix-based IaaS and PaaS offerings, ensuring scalability, supportability, and alignment with Expedient's platform strategy.
  • Development Task Definition: Identify, document, and prioritize the engineering tasks and issues required to advance Nutanix products from concept to production service.
  • BETA Program Participation: Embed with Service Delivery and Implementation teams on early-stage client deployments to validate service designs under real-world conditions.
  • Client Feedback: Engage directly with clients during BETA phases to gather technical feedback and translate findings into service improvements.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Platform Architects, Product Engineers, Reliability teams and operational teams to ensure new services are implementable and maintainable at scale.
  • Lifecycle Contribution: Support the evolution of Nutanix-based services through ongoing architecture reviews and configuration refinements post-launch
What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3-5 years of infrastructure or virtualization engineering experience, with a focus on the Nutanix AHV product set.
  • Working knowledge of the broader Nutanix portfolio: DRaaS, Nutanix AI, Nutanix Database Service (NDB), and Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP).
  • Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) - required.
  • Experience contributing to IaaS or PaaS service design and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills - ability to translate technical architecture into clear service definitions for internal and client audiences.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.

This is a hybrid position requiring proximity to one of our eligible office locations which include Pittsburgh or Indianapolis. Sponsorship is not provided for this role.

Salary for this position is directly related to your own experience, knowledge, and skills. Estimated range for this role is $100,000 to $120,000
