Job Title: Senior Technical Writer

Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid - 3 days/week)

Duration: 6+ months contract

Max Pay Rate: $73/hr. on w2

Hiring Manager preference:

Looking for someone who can integrate and write the instruction and de bug it, engineering background (SDK integration and debugging) will be helpful, data breaks companies with AI tools & high-bar of public docs preferred (data-bricks, statsig, datadog, etc.) will be good for this role.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Technical Writer to drive a unified documentation and learning experience across 37 AI and data products within a growing Data & AI organization. These internal platforms support Product Managers, Engineers, and Data Scientists building AI prototypes and production solutions.

The goal is to standardize documentation across multiple platforms and evolve it into an AI-ready, conversational, search-friendly ecosystem integrated with ChatGPT, Claude, and internal AI agents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a standardized guide framework across AI products
• Rewrite and restructure 5 6 major product guides
• Collaborate closely with PMs and Engineers to extract technical details
• Create AI-search-friendly documentation for conversational agent integration
• Develop multi-modal content: architecture diagrams, flow charts, demos, and walkthrough videos
• Work in a docs-as-code, Git-based environment

Required Experience:

• Maximum 5 12 years of technical writing experience
• Strong API/SDK and platform documentation background
• Experience in Data & AI, analytics, experimentation, feature flagging, or observability environments
• Ability to translate complex architectures (analytics pipelines, experimentation layers, tracking systems)
• Experience working directly with engineering teams
• Familiarity with Git, Google Docs collaboration, and AI-assisted documentation tools
