Our organization is in search of a fellowship-trained, board-certified Anesthesiologist to fill the full-time role of Chief of Anesthesiology at a local hospital. This leadership position involves managing the anesthesia department, overseeing clinical operations, staffing, and implementing quality initiatives at the facility located in Troy, NY.

Position Highlights:

  • Lead a cooperative team of anesthesiologists and CRNAs.
  • Manage anesthesia services across operating rooms, obstetrics, and endoscopy.
  • Promote quality enhancement, innovation, and patient safety.
  • Collaborate with surgical, nursing, and administrative leaders.
  • Establish protocols and provide mentorship to clinical staff.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified Anesthesiologist with fellowship training.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing anesthesia teams.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Background in clinical operations, quality improvement, and strategic planning.
  • Eligibility for a New York State medical license and DEA registration.

Base Salary - Two Tracks Based on Call Requirements and Leadership Stipend:

Track 1 - $575,217 plus a $91,520 leadership stipend

  • Onsite shifts: 44 hours/week for 44 weeks, totaling 1,936 hours annually.
  • First call shifts per year:
  • 1 in 8 weekday shifts, each lasting 12 hours.
  • 1 in 8 weekend day shifts, each lasting 24 hours.
  • 1 in 6 holidays, each lasting 12 hours.

Track 2 - $600,000 plus a $91,520 leadership stipend

  • Onsite shifts: 44 hours/week for 44 weeks, totaling 1,936 hours annually.
  • First call shifts per year:
  • 1 in 5 weekday shifts, each lasting 12 hours.
  • 1 in 5 weekend day shifts, each lasting 24 hours.
  • 1 in 6 holidays, each lasting 12 hours.

Additional Compensation:

  • Starting & Retention Bonus: $100,000 (with a 2-year clawback).
  • Chief Stipend: $91,520 annually for 416 hours of administrative leadership.
  • Compensation for excess call and onsite shifts.
  • OB call compensation.
  • Quality incentive compensation (starting from the 3rd anniversary).

Recruitment Package:

Our organization provides a comprehensive salary and benefits package that includes:

  • Extensive benefits (health, dental, vision).
  • The stated salary represents the initial range of total compensation and does not account for productivity bonuses, quality and performance incentives, extra shift incentives, and other cash compensation applicable to the role. Additionally, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits from their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with state law and may vary based on the factors mentioned.
  • Paid malpractice insurance with tail coverage.
  • $4,500 annual CME expense allowance and 40 hours per year.
  • Retirement plans: 403(b) with matching contributions, 457(d) plan.
