Role: Senior RTL Design Engineer (Silicon IP Specialist)
Duration: 12+ Months
Location: Santa Clara, CA || Onsite Role
Job Description-:
Role Overview
Client is seeking a high-caliber RTL Design and Microarchitecture Specialist with deep expertise in ARM-based systems to support a world-leading Semiconductor IP provider. In this role, you will act as a critical technical bridge, helping global SoC (System-on-Chip) partners integrate, modify, and optimize industry-standard compute IP for next-generation silicon.
Key Responsibilities
ARM IP Customization: Modify and optimize high-quality, synthesizable SystemVerilog/Verilog RTL for ARM-based CPU/DSP cores and subsystems to meet customer-specific PPA (Performance, Power, Area) targets.
Architecture Implementation: Collaborate with partner engineering teams to define micro-architectural specifications for blocks within the ARM A, R, or M profile ecosystems.
Technical Integration Support: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for external customers during the integration of complex ARM IP blocks into larger SoC environments.
Bus & Fabric Expert: Lead the troubleshooting of complex hardware issues involving ARM AMBA protocols (AXI, ACE, CHI, AHB) and memory coherency fabrics.
Debug & Performance Tuning: Analyze hardware performance bottlenecks and debug functional discrepancies in ARM-based subsystems during both pre-silicon and post-silicon phases.
Knowledge Transfer: Develop technical whitepapers and guidelines to help partners leverage ARM architectural features (e.g., TrustZone, Virtualization, or Neon/SVE) effectively.
