Our Challenge:

A Generative AI (Gen AI) / Machine Learning (ML) Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Lead is responsible for guiding the strategy, design, development, and deployment of AI and ML solutions within an organization. They provide expertise on generative models, machine learning algorithms, and data science practices, and often lead cross-functional teams to deliver innovative AI-driven products and services.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Piscataway, NJ is $130K - $140K/year & benefits (see below).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of generative AI and ML strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Design, develop, and optimize advanced ML models, including generative models such as GPT, GANs, VAEs, and others.
  • Lead data collection, cleaning, and feature engineering efforts to prepare high-quality datasets for modeling.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and software engineers to integrate AI/ML models into applications and platforms.
  • Conduct research on emerging AI/ML technologies, frameworks, and best practices, and recommend adoption.
  • Lead the evaluation and validation of AI/ML models, ensuring accuracy, robustness, and fairness.
  • Mentor team members, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and best practices.
  • Translate complex AI/ML concepts into clear business insights and technical documentation.
  • Drive innovation and pilot projects for new AI applications, including natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and other generative tasks.
  • Ensure AI solutions comply with ethical standards, privacy, and security regulations.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in designing and deploying AI/ML models, particularly in generative AI.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, or other relevant programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, etc.
  • Deep understanding of deep learning architectures, NLP, computer vision, and generative modeling.
  • Proven experience leading AI/ML projects from conception to production.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience and ability to guide cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced degree (Master s, PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related fields.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Publications or patents in AI/ML research areas.
  • Experience with cloud-based AI services such as AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or Google AI Platform.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices for model deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of ethical AI, fairness, and bias mitigation strategies.
