About this Position:

Job Title: Senior Azure DBA Lead

Key Responsibilities:

Lead overall project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Serve as the primary liaison with client stakeholders, facilitating communication, issue resolution, and decision-making.
Provide advanced database administration (DBA) support for Azure Cloud SQL, including performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and storage configuration.
Oversee data migration activities from on-premises systems to Azure cloud environments, ensuring data integrity and validation.
Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for high availability and business continuity.
Monitor system performance using Azure-native monitoring tools, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
Establish and enforce data governance, security controls, and RBAC policies.
Lead risk management, change management, and quality assurance processes.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and oversight to project team members.
Prepare and deliver status reports, performance metrics, and documentation.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
10+ years of experience in database administration and project management.
Strong expertise in Azure Cloud SQL, Azure Data Lake, Synapse, and cloud architecture.
Experience with ETL processes, data modeling, and performance optimization.
Proficiency in T-SQL, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Proven experience managing public sector or large-scale IT projects.
Strong knowledge of ITIL-based service management practices.
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate / Azure Solutions Architect preferred.
