Summary

Mechanical Engineer - Belding, MI

DISHER is currently partnering with a company that is designing and building industrial saw equipment for customers who need reliable, precision cutting solutions in their search for a Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will own the design details that turn concepts into buildable equipment, creating 3D models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and equipment manuals, while working closely with senior engineers and the shop floor.

What it's like to work here:

You will be part of a hands-on team where engineering and manufacturing work side by side. You will see your designs move from screen to machine, solve real build and assembly challenges, and contribute directly to equipment their customers rely on. They value practical problem-solvers, detail-oriented designers, and people who take ownership of their work.

What you will get to do:

  • Create 3D part files and large assemblies using SolidWorks
  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D manufacturing drawings ready for production
  • Build and maintain accurate Bills of Materials
  • Support senior mechanical engineers in the design and release of equipment
  • Assist with component sizing and selection, including bearings, motors, cylinders, and structures
  • Review drawings for accuracy before they reach the manufacturing floor
  • Work directly with manufacturing to troubleshoot and resolve build issues
  • Create complete equipment manuals for internal and customer use

What will make you successful:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering or related field required
  • 1-5 years of experience using SolidWorks in a professional setting
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated work style
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team
  • Proven ability to complete projects with limited supervision
  • Experience in machine design and machining procedures
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Pneumatics and hydraulics experience is a plus
