Oxford s client is looking for a contracts manager.
They work with clients such as Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, Raytheon, and Lockheed to provide systems to be incorporated into a variety of defense vehicles.
They are recently lost their contracts manager, and are looking for someone that can review government subcontracts, analyze them, look at the flow downs, clarify which pieces are owned by them, what is risky, push back when primes are over burdening, etc. Other details would include what is the ownership situation (i.e., will they own the data, will the government own it, will it be a licensing arrangement, will they sell and be required to maintain/support and for what periods of time). Essentially, this candidate will review and identify risks and present information to upper management to decide whether or not to take the risk. They also have existing contracts with these companies, so it may be just looking to see what they have added this time and what is new.
A background in FARS, DFARS, DCMA, and cost accounting standards is key.
This candidate will ensure that the subcontracts comply with federal laws such as Title 2, 12, and 15.
This is a role for a self-starter.
It is not a strategy type of opportunity as when the contracts come for review, they will have already won the deal.
