Location: Mossville, IL On-Site Duration: 24-Month Contract Schedule: Monday Friday, approximately 8:00 AM 4:00 PM (flexible) Travel: Up to 25% Domestic Employment: W-2 Only No C2C or Third-Party Suppliers

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist to support purchasing and supply chain activities within a fast-paced product and manufacturing environment.

This position will support a procurement team responsible for multiple new product introduction initiatives and will work closely with Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain, suppliers, and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in procurement or supply chain, RFQs, quote analysis, supplier negotiations, data analytics, and project execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Issue, manage, and track Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
Analyze supplier quotes, pricing, financial information, and technical data
Support and conduct fact-based supplier negotiations
Track cost, quality, and delivery performance metrics
Identify opportunities to improve supplier and procurement performance
Lead metrics and process improvement projects
Manage supplier transaction disputes and work toward resolution
Analyze market and delivery conditions to assess current and future material availability
Identify and evaluate suppliers based on availability, capabilities, pricing, and commercial terms
Support purchasing and contract management activities
Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with suppliers
Review purchase orders, claims, and contracts for compliance with company policies
Coordinate with Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other business functions
Support project deliverables and progressively take ownership of projects independently

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree
12 years of relevant experience with an Associate's degree
8 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree
Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a closely related function
Strong experience with RFQs, quote analysis, supplier negotiations, and purchasing activities
Strong data analytics and business acumen
Experience analyzing financial reports, price proposals, and other business or technical data
Knowledge of supply chain management and purchasing practices
Strong project execution skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

CPSM, CPPM, CPP, or related purchasing/supply management certification
Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) initiatives

Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and related tools
Strong supplier relationship management skills

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone who combines strong procurement fundamentals with analytical and negotiation skills. This person should be comfortable analyzing supplier quotes and performance data, supporting negotiations, managing multiple priorities, and working across Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain, and supplier organizations.

Candidates with backgrounds such as Buyer, Senior Buyer, Purchasing Specialist, Procurement Specialist, Supply Chain Analyst, or Purchasing Analyst may be a strong fit.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is an on-site position in Mossville, IL. The role works within a team of buyers and supplier development engineers and interacts with broader procurement, engineering, and supply chain teams both locally and globally.
