Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chicago, IL. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This is a development-centric, 100% hands-on role focused on delivering technical solutions by managing all phases of the software development life cycle. The successful candidate will work with reference data platforms and vendor data, requiring a strong understanding of data engineering principles and experience building and maintaining data pipelines.
Responsibilities: - Analyze business or technical requirements and design solutions to develop business-critical components
- Work closely with technical and business partners across the globe
- Manage application design, development, delivery, and post-production support
- Enhance the existing application stack and act as an application manager for key reference data applications
- Build and maintain data pipelines and ingestion frameworks for vendor feeds
- Implement data mappings, derivation logic, and integration with downstream systems
Requirements: - Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and J2EE
- Solid experience with Oracle SQL for data processing
- Good understanding of data engineering principles including data modeling, transformation, enrichment, quality, reconciliation, lineage, and traceability
- Experience working with reference data platforms and vendor data (e.g., Bloomberg, LSEG, ICE)
- Experience with Spring Boot and Core Java
Desired skills: - Experience in writing optimized SQL queries
- Familiarity with distributed processing and large-scale data handling
- Understanding of Global Markets products and exposure to risk data flows (FRTB SA and IMA exposure is desirable)
- Good understanding of unit testing concepts and development patterns
- Strong understanding of software build and release management
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Proven experience in building scalable and robust applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
