Service Now Developer

Role Summary
We re looking for a Senior ServiceNow Developer to design, build, and optimize ServiceNow solutions across the platform. You ll work closely with product owners, process owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable workflows, high-quality integrations, and great user experiences while enforcing platform best practices and governance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end development on the ServiceNow platform (configuration + custom development)
Build and enhance workflows using Flow Designer / Workflow Editor, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Includes
Develop and maintain custom apps using scoped applications and App Engine patterns
Configure and extend core modules such as ITSM (Incident/Problem/Change/Request), plus one or more of:
ITOM (Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Mgmt)
CSM
HRSD
SecOps
GRC/IRM
SPM
Implement and support Service Portal / Employee Center experiences (widgets, UI Builder where applicable)
Design and implement integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, IntegrationHub/Spokes, and data imports
Improve platform performance and reliability (script optimization, indexing, async patterns, event queues)
Support release processes: dev/test/prod promotion, update sets/app repo, CI/CD (where used)
Drive engineering quality: code reviews, unit testing strategy, documentation, and reusable patterns
Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs and deliverables
Mentor junior developers and contribute to platform standards and guardrails
Required Qualifications
5+ years of ServiceNow development experience (or equivalent platform expertise)
Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript on ServiceNow, Glide APIs, and platform scripting best practices
Proven delivery in at least one major area: ITSM / ITOM / CSM / HRSD / SecOps / GRC
Experience with Flow Designer, catalog items, approvals, notifications, SLAs, and reporting/dashboards
Solid understanding of ServiceNow data model (tables, relationships, CMDB basics if applicable)
Integration experience using REST APIs, web services, and authentication patterns (OAuth, basic, etc.)
Strong troubleshooting skills across client/server scripts, ACLs, and UI behaviors
Excellent communication skills able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
Experience with ServiceNow CMDB governance, Discovery, Service Mapping
Service Portal / UI Builder / Now Experience components
Performance Analytics, ATF, or automated testing exposure
DevOps and CI/CD for ServiceNow (e.g., integration with Git, pipelines)
Experience in regulated environments (financial services, healthcare, etc.)
Certifications (Preferred)
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
Implementation Specialist certifications (ITSM/ITOM/CSM/HRSD/SecOps, etc.)
