Summary
Job Title: SQL Database Engineer - W2 Role
Location: Phoenix, AZ – Onsite 5 Days
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in database engineering, database design, data architecture, or a similar technical role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience designing relational database structures.
- Experience with data Modeling concepts for transactional and analytical systems.
- Hands-on experience with database performance tuning, indexing strategies, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of database security, backup and recovery practices, and change management.
- Experience supporting ETL/ELT processes, data migrations, or system integrations.
- Ability to document technical designs clearly and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in financial services, lending, fintech, or other regulated environments.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and modern data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, or similar enterprise database platforms.
- Exposure to Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar work management tools.
- Experience supporting reporting, analytics, or business intelligence initiatives.
- Knowledge of data governance, audit readiness, and sensitive data handling best practices.
