Civil & Structural Engineer III | Full-Time (Direct Hire) | Onsite position | Lake Mary, Florida

This position is based on-site in Lake Mary, Florida. Candidates located within the local area are strongly preferred; however, relocation assistance is available for qualified applicants.

You will lead the design, analysis, and delivery of civil and structural engineering solutions for a diverse range of projects. Apply advanced knowledge of structural engineering principles, industry standards, and best practices to develop innovative and practical designs, including support structures, concrete foundations, and building enclosure systems. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and technical professionals to ensure projects are executed efficiently, meet quality and performance objectives, remain within budget, and comply with all applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform and review engineering design and structural analysis for steel structures and concrete foundations
  • Collect, review, interpret, and integrate design requirements from customers, suppliers, and the parent company
  • Prepare and review engineering technical requirements to support the overall project proposal and bid strategy
  • Review customer specifications and prepare technical clarifications and deviations
  • Prepare and review budgets, bids, technical requirements, and commercial requirements
  • Plan and review deliverable schedules, including project documentation and equipment
  • Work with suppliers to develop budgets and pricing estimates
  • Ensure the arrangement and foundation interface information meets requirements
  • Interface with internal and external teams to ensure that design interface information for structural commodities is accurate and properly accounted for
  • Establish corrective actions to reduce nonconformances and improve quality
  • Complete projects on time, in budget, and in accordance with applicable codes and standards

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Civil Engineering required.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a related engineering field. A Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred, particularly those with experience in gas turbine design, auxiliary systems, nuclear engineering, or foundations for rotating equipment.
  • Strong familiarity with ASCE 7, IBC, AISC 360, ACI 318, OSHA, and industry standards. Familiarity with AISC 341, ACI 351, DIN 4024, and ISO 1940 is a plus.
  • Smart Plant 3D/ Revit: Familiarity with concepts fundamental to creation of integrated design in a 3D environment and the extraction of technical detail is desired.
  • STAAD/ SAP2000/ GT Strudl: Familiarity with Structural Design tools is desired.
  • AutoCAD/ MicroStation: Familiarity with 2D CAD drafting tools is desired
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
