Summary

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Scientist for an onsite contract position with a 12-month contract located in Thousand Oaks, CA.

Responsibilities:

With minimal supervision, plan, conduct or monitor experiments, record and organize data, analyze results, and generate robust and reliable data
Maintain continuous cultures of several mammalian tumor cell lines
Design and execute experiments including high-throughput assays (AlphaLISA, CellTiterGlo) and other standard molecular biology techniques (immunofluorescence, Flow cytometry, Western blot)
Perform data analysis including keeping a laboratory notebook and preparing presentations of data
Effectively transfer experimental methods from literature to the lab and make modifications as necessary
Develop and implement new protocols with moderate review
Effectively troubleshoot equipment and experimental difficulties
Contribute to internal/external reports, papers, presentations, and regulatory documents

Requirements:

Doctorate degree OR Master's degree and 2 years of experience OR Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience in Cancer Biology, Genetics, or a related field
Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture
Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques (western blotting, molecular cloning, qPCR, flow cytometry, etc)
Familiarity with data processing/analysis (e.g., Excel, GraphPad Prism)
Strong data analysis skills and scientific independence
Demonstrated publication record, preferably including first-author work (must show first-author publication for PhD candidates)

Desired skills:

Research experience in cancer biology, genetics, or related field
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills

Pay range: up to $42.36 per hour
