Job Details:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Estimator for Structural Steel to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a crucial role in our construction projects, preparing accurate estimates for jobs by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. Our ideal candidate has a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent mathematical skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for select trades.
2. Develop complete and accurate bid proposals for Structural Steel projects.
3. Review and evaluate cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
4. Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
5. Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to other professionals.
6. Use specialized software including Fabsuite, Fabtrol, and Tekla EPM for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
7. Negotiate and liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to secure advantageous terms.
8. Stay updated with the latest techniques and materials in the construction industry and adjust the estimation process accordingly.
9. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects during the construction process to ensure cost efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in structural steel estimation in the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in using Estimating Software, Fabsuite, Fabtrol, Tekla EPM, and AISC.
4. Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
5. Excellent mathematical skills with an analytical mindset.
6. Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
7. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work well under pressure.
8. Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
9. Knowledge of the latest cutting-edge technologies in the construction industry.
10. Professional certification in estimating or a related field would be a plus.
