At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we partner with creators as they experiment with a range of cutting-edge tools that bridge innovation with imaginative storytelling. Come join Inkubator to shape what's next and explore the creative possibilities.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking Software Engineers to join our pioneering team at INK. INK is looking to provide an environment where artists can produce animated content by experimenting with a range of AI-enabled tools and production pipelines. This role will work closely with senior members of the technology team to help build enterprise-wide technology and platforms that support INK's artist-led production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help build and extend enterprise-wide technology and platforms for INK to support scalable GenAI-native production across shows.
  • Partner with senior software engineers to evaluate internal and external algorithm developments in the context of creative requirements to support artists and technical directors on shows. Package successful workflows for use by other artists across the studio.
  • In collaboration with technical leadership and Netflix infrastructure teams, help define artist distributed compute and workstation requirements. Ensure proper API support for Technical Directors to customize per-show or craft last-mile integration.
  • Prototype and test new workflows in real production scenarios, gather feedback from artists, and iterate to improve usability and performance.
  • Establish and maintain studio standards around generated assets and materials as a primary owner within your scope. Develop and maintain tools for artists that navigate and manage generated materials.
  • Maintain the studio production tracking and review toolset. Enable tooling that ensures standardized workflows across productions.
  • Support Technical Directors and Artists with development and tooling. Provide tooling for common show environments and standardization, and, where appropriate, APIs for Technical Directors to integrate show-specific solutions.
  • Provide infrastructure monitoring tools and reports detailing HW and SW usage.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure systems are reliable, secure, and compliant across projects and use-cases.
  • Collaborate effectively with immediate team peers and cross-functional project partners (e.g., project meetings, code reviews), and help support interns and other team members.

Qualifications
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, preferably supporting animation studios and pipelines OR experience supporting GenAI workflows and pipelines.
  • Genuine passion for empowering and partnering with creative teams and production staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own medium-to-large features within a team's systems and drive project goals.
  • Working knowledge of scalable inference and training technologies, with a demonstrated ability and eagerness to expand expertise and stay current with the highly dynamic tool landscape.
  • Ability to translate common workflow needs and requirements into standardized solutions.
  • Familiarity with modern and emerging software development technologies (e.g., Claude Code) and the ability to develop and integrate scalable workflows that leverage Netflix's internal solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate show-based solutions into common deployable workflows.
  • Familiarity with the complexities of building and maintaining secure systems that manage multiple show working environments.
