Role: Senior Full-Stack AWS Data Engineer
Jersey City, NJ
12 Months Contract
Position Overview
We are looking for a versatile Data Engineer to design and scale our end-to-end data ecosystem. You will bridge the gap between raw data ingestion and user-facing applications—building robust pipelines in AWS, orchestrating containers on EKS, and developing sleek interfaces in React.
Key Responsibilities
· Data Orchestration: Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Lambda and S3 for event-driven processing.
· Infrastructure & Deployment: Deploy and manage microservices on Amazon EKS (Kubernetes) to ensure high availability and scalability.
· Full-Stack Development: Develop backend APIs using Node.js and high-performance frontends in React to visualize data insights.
· Search & Analytics: Implement and optimize Amazon OpenSearch (formerly Elasticsearch) for real-time log analytics and complex data discovery.
· Customer Engagement: Integrate AWS Pinpoint to trigger data-driven user communications and track engagement metrics.
· Database Management: Architect and optimize relational schemas using SQL (RDS/PostgreSQL) for complex business logic.
Technical Toolkit
· Cloud: AWS (S3, Lambda, Pinpoint, EKS).
· Development: Node.js (Backend) & React (Frontend).
· Data & Search: OpenSearch, SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
· 3+ years in Data Engineering with a focus on AWS serverless and containerized environments..
· Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with NoSQL/Search indexing.
· Proven ability to build full-stack applications (Node/React) that interface with large datasets.
· Experience with event-driven architectures and message-based systems.
· Why this stack is unique:
· EKS + OpenSearch: This combination implies you’ll be handling high-scale, searchable data, likely for logs or real-time product catalogs.
· Pinpoint: This suggests the role has a "Growth Engineering" tilt—using data to drive marketing and user notifications.
· React/Node: You aren''t just a "behind-the-scenes" engineer; you are building the actual tools the business uses to interact with the data.
Qualifications
· Seniority: 3–6 years of hands-on experience in Full Stack Engineering, with at least 2 years focused on AWS-native architectures.
· Production EKS: Proven experience deploying and maintaining production-grade applications on Amazon EKS (Kubernetes), including writing manifests and managing pod lifecycles.
