SAP EWM Architect – S/4HANA

Role Overview

We are looking for a senior SAP Extended Warehouse Management Architect to support an S/4HANA Phase 0 assessment. The consultant will help assess the client’s current warehouse processes, identify fit-gap areas, evaluate S/4HANA EWM readiness, and provide future-state recommendations.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in SAP EWM design, architecture, integration, and S/4HANA transformation planning.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead SAP EWM discovery and assessment workshops with business and IT stakeholders.
* Review current warehouse processes, system landscape, pain points, and integration touchpoints.
* Assess SAP EWM fit-gap against future S/4HANA needs.
* Evaluate embedded EWM vs decentralized EWM considerations, where applicable.
* Identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and key design decisions for the S/4 Phase 0 roadmap.
* Provide recommendations for future-state warehouse architecture and operating model.
* Assess integration with SAP MM, SD, PP, QM, TM, yard/logistics processes, and third-party systems.
* Support high-level solution design, implementation approach, effort estimation, and roadmap planning.
* Prepare assessment documentation, findings, recommendations, and executive-level presentation materials.

Required Skills

* 12+ years of SAP experience with strong focus on SAP EWM / WM / Logistics Execution.
* 5+ years of hands-on SAP EWM solution architecture experience.
* Experience with S/4HANA EWM, including embedded and/or decentralized EWM.
* Strong understanding of warehouse inbound, outbound, internal movements, physical inventory, RF, HU, wave management, labor, slotting, and automation integration.
* Experience conducting discovery, Phase 0, assessment, blueprint, or roadmap engagements.
* Ability to lead workshops and communicate with business users, IT teams, and executives.
* Strong integration knowledge across SAP MM, SD, PP, QM, TM, and FI touchpoints.
* Ability to create fit-gap analysis, future-state architecture, risk assessment, and implementation roadmap.

Preferred Skills

* Experience with S/4HANA migration or greenfield/brownfield programs.
* Exposure to warehouse automation, conveyors, scanners, RF devices, 3PL, or WMS integrations.
* Experience in manufacturing, distribution, retail, CPG, automotive, or life sciences environments.
* SAP EWM certification is a plus.
* Prior consulting experience is strongly preferred.

* S/4 Phase 0 roadmap and high-level implementation approach.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a senior SAP EWM architect who can operate independently, lead discovery sessions, challenge assumptions, and provide practical recommendations for an S/4HANA transformation. This is not just a configuration role; the client needs a strategic architect who can assess, advise, and guide the Phase 0 planning effort.
