Job Description: Lead Software Engineer, Back End (Risk Tech – Intelligent Foundations & Experiences)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems that power risk management, intelligent decisioning, and foundational technology platforms. The role involves leading technical initiatives, building reliable services and APIs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving engineering excellence to deliver secure, high-performance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications, services, and APIs.
• Lead technical design and architecture discussions for risk technology platforms.
• Build scalable, resilient, and secure systems to support business and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, architects, and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions.
• Drive software development best practices, code reviews, and quality standards.
• Analyze and resolve complex technical issues, performance bottlenecks, and system failures.
• Develop and optimize integrations with internal and external systems.
• Support cloud-native development, deployment automation, and operational excellence.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical growth within the team.
• Participate in Agile planning, estimation, and delivery activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, or Go.
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Understanding of software design patterns, system architecture, and scalability principles.
• Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Risk Technology, Financial Services, FinTech, or Regulatory Technology environments.
• Familiarity with data processing, analytics, and intelligent decisioning platforms.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging systems.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and production support.
