Summary

This position provides strategic leadership in the design and governance of enterprise data ecosystems. The role is responsible for defining and advancing data management strategies, policies, and standards to support data integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective data use across the organization.

The Senior Data Architect oversees the implementation of advanced tools and technologies while guiding teams in developing scalable, secure, and integrated data solutions. In partnership with executives and key stakeholders, this individual translates complex data requirements into actionable architectural frameworks that support innovation and informed decision-making.

Job Duties

  • Design scalable and secure data solutions using Microsoft Fabric components, including OneLake, Data Factory, Power BI, and Synapse.
  • Develop and maintain robust data models, pipelines, and semantic layers that support analytics and reporting.
  • Lead the technical implementation of data platform modernization initiatives, including migration to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and data engineers to translate business requirements into data architecture blueprints.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, quality, and security standards across projects.
  • Perform performance tuning and cost optimization for data workflows and reporting assets.
  • Provide technical mentorship to architects and engineers and contribute to architectural reviews and standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Seven years of proven experience in data architecture or solution design within business intelligence, analytics, or data engineering domains.
  • Hands-on experience with DAX, SQL, and at least one scripting language, such as Python or Spark.
  • Ability to understand complex business processes and rules and apply strong business acumen to become a subject matter expert.
  • Advanced knowledge of business intelligence applications and data modeling concepts.
  • Proficiency in SQL, ETL packages, strategic extraction design, and data integration processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services.
  • Proficiency in dimensional modeling, ELT/ETL processes, and semantic modeling.
  • Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices for data solutions.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Seven years of experience in finance, healthcare, retail, insurance, or another data-intensive industry.
  • Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud data environments.
  • Familiarity with modern data architecture patterns, such as lakehouse and data mesh.
