About the Role
We are looking for a
Microservices Software Engineer to help design, build, and support our modernized microservices application suite. In this role, you will deliver highly scalable, secure, and performant services while collaborating closely with product managers, architects, engineers, QA, and DevOps teams.
You will own solutions end-to-end-from design and development through deployment and production support-using industry best practices and modern cloud-native technologies.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Design, develop, test, and maintain microservices supporting consumer-facing applications
- Write high-quality, production-ready code with a strong focus on scalability, security, and performance
- Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and participate in peer code reviews
- Collaborate with DevOps to build CI/CD pipelines, Docker containers, and production monitoring
- Add instrumentation, logging, and metrics to support production environments
- Scope engineering work accurately, identify risks, and communicate trade-offs clearly
- Own features end-to-end, including specifications, quality, deployment, and production health monitoring
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute as a core member of an engineering team solving complex business and technical challenges
- Participate in architectural design, system analysis, and independent technical research
- Develop maintainable, scalable, responsive, and secure software using best-practice design patterns
- Produce clear, concise technical documentation and promote a documentation-first culture
- Ensure code quality through automated testing, continuous integration, and delivery practices
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers
- Partner with engineering leadership, product, design, QA, and business teams to define and deliver solutions
- Monitor application and infrastructure performance, capacity, alerting, and KPIs
- Support engineering project planning and execution
- Stay current with technologies, tools, and best practices
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience (Master's degree a plus)
- 5-7 years of experience designing and developing secure, object-oriented web services
- Strong experience with Java, RESTful API development, and Spring Boot
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle
- Hands-on experience with microservices architectures
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Strong knowledge of Test-Driven Development and unit testing frameworks (e.g., Mockito, EasyMock)
- Experience deploying applications in cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or private cloud)
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
