Description: Our client is currently seeking a Senior Android Developer
Location will be Austin, TX 78758 (Hybrid 4 days a week onsite)
Alternate Locations - Dallas/Westlake, and Raleigh, NC
Duration: 12 months contract with possibility of extension
About Role
As a Senior Android Developer, you will be responsible for leading the development efforts and providing guidance to the engineering team across our suite of mobile applications for Retail, Retirement, and Intelligent Assistant. You will participate in design discussions, as well as mentor and remove roadblocks for engineers on the team.
Responsibilities
Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and help translate these into technical requirements for the development team.
Direct the development team in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications.
Provide in-depth knowledge of current technological trends, developments, and best practices in information security, wireless network architecture, technologies, and concepts.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
7+ years of Android development experience with team leadership experience.
Extensive experience developing complex Android applications in an enterprise environment.
Proficiency with Kotlin.
Experience with REST, JSON, XML, and interfacing Android applications to server-side APIs.
Familiarity with Agile practices.
Hands-on experience supporting multiple versions of Android SDKs, screen resolutions, and device types.
An expert understanding of the Android SDK and NDK.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong problem-solving skills and deep experience coaching and mentoring junior developers.
Knowledge of integrating feature flagging tools such as LaunchDarkly and Optimizely.
Experience with implementing unit test cases using tools like Espresso, Gherkin, Mockito, or Mock.
Familiarity with analytics tools such as Adobe, Mixpanel, Amplitude, AppsFlyer, etc.
Experience with code repository tools such as Git, BitBucket, SVN, etc.
Exceptional object-oriented design and development skills.
Solid grasp of algorithms, memory management, and real-time communications.
