responsibilities:
- Design, simulate, and validate electrical circuits and systems for motor control applications.
- Design and develop switching power supplies and converter technologies
- Perform engineering work to ensure specification, quality standards, and functional objectives are met. This includes researching, developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, systems, and products
- Function as an integral part of a larger electrical engineering design team
- Work collaboratively with other Engineering disciplines (Project, Systems, Mechanical, and Software), Programs, Production, Quality and Supply Chain to develop an integrated execution plan to satisfy customer requirements
- Create engineering documentation
- Adhere to defined electrical engineering processes and demonstrate a continuous learning mindset, proactively identifying areas for improvement.
qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in aerospace product development, including design and integration of electrical or electromechanical systems
- Experience designing electrical systems for motor control applications, including brushless DC (BLDC) motors
- Expertise in PCB design software, including Mentor Graphics (Siemens) Xpedition, Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, or Altium Designer with Xpedition strongly preferred.
- Experience with Siemens HyperLynx simulation and analysis software is a plus
- Experience with SPICE Simulation software
- Experience with EMI/EMC test plans, strategies, and procedures in accordance with MIL-STD-461 and related industry standards
- Familiarity with environmental qualification standards, specifically MIL-STD-810 and RTCA/DO-160, for aerospace electronic systems
- Understanding of RTCA/DO-254 requirements for the development of airborne electronic hardware
- Utilize test equipment-including oscilloscopes, function generators, and other instrumentation-to support development, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical and electromechanical systems.
