About the RoleIn this opportunity, as Principal Engineer, you will:
Provide technical leadership and define software development strategies for critical AI projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Lead the design and development of innovative features advancing AI-native product experiences.
Drive the seamless integration of LLMs and generative AI technologies into Corporate Tax and Trade products.
Streamline the use of Micro Front Ends to ensure low latency, scalability, and excellent user experience.
Mentor a globally distributed team of engineering managers, architects, and developers to strengthen engineering culture.
Lead complex technical initiatives, exercising autonomy in decision-making and managing technical risk.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
About YouYou're a fit for the role of Principal Engineer if your background includes:
10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with a proven record of developing scalable, web-based solutions with an advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Expertise with modern UI frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, or similar), TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
Experience with AI technologies, including GenAI concepts such as prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and fine-tuning.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence across organisational boundaries and to navigate ambiguity, make data-driven decisions, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to mentor others and promote best practices in release management, AI dev tools, and test-driven development.
Experience integrating AI/ML technologies into customer-facing applications

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $158,900 USD - $295,100 USD.Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
