Full-time, Hybrid ( 2 weeks onsite, 2 weeks remote)

Paying up to 170,000-175,000/year

Position Summary

The SAP COE Manager is responsible for leading the overall strategy, governance framework, and continuous improvement model for SAP S/4HANA operating within a RISE environment. This role ensures operational stability, drives business value, and enables controlled innovation across the ERP ecosystem.

The individual will build and enhance the Customer Center of Expertise (COE), manage demand intake and prioritization, and enforce "fit-to-standard" and clean core principles using SAP Activate methodology and SAP Cloud ALM. This leader will define processes for incident, problem, change, and release management aligned with ITIL standards, while coordinating closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance, scalability, and alignment with strategic roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and evolve the SAP COE operating model, governance structure, and accreditation roadmap to maximize return on SAP investments
  • Oversee demand management, intake processes, and portfolio prioritization across operational and enhancement initiatives
  • Define roles and responsibilities within the RISE model, coordinating efforts across SAP services, system integrators, and internal stakeholders
  • Promote adherence to SAP Activate methodology, including fit-to-standard workshops and clean core governance practices
  • Manage SAP Cloud ALM as the central platform for requirements, testing, deployment coordination, documentation, and system monitoring
  • Establish and maintain ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, and change management, including governance bodies such as CAB
  • Lead release and upgrade cycles for S/4HANA, ensuring alignment with business readiness, testing protocols, and deployment timelines
  • Govern transport management and deployment practices, ensuring compliance, traceability, and segregation of duties
  • Ensure security, audit readiness, and compliance across SAP environments, including role management and monitoring practices
  • Drive adoption and optimization of SAP Fiori to enhance user experience and productivity
  • Oversee hypercare phases and ongoing improvements driven by performance metrics and system insights
  • Manage relationships with external partners and SAP support services to leverage best practices and innovation
  • Collaborate with security and audit teams to maintain data integrity and regulatory compliance
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Lead a cross-functional SAP COE team, including functional leads, analysts, testing specialists, and operational experts
  • Oversee vendor and partner resources as needed
Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 8+ years of SAP experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within an SAP COE or S/4HANA program
  • Experience working with S/4HANA under a RISE framework, including understanding shared responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of SAP Activate methodology across all project phases
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Cloud ALM for implementation and operational support
  • Solid understanding of ITIL-based service management processes
  • Experience managing S/4HANA release and upgrade cycles
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and vendor oversight skills

Preferred:
  • SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Activate Project Manager, SAP Functional Certification, or Cloud ALM)
  • Experience supporting SAP Fiori at scale and enhancing user experience
  • Knowledge of transitioning from SAP Solution Manager to Cloud ALM
  • Background in distribution, manufacturing, or similar industries
