Senior Web Developer

Description

We are looking for a Senior Web Developer to support digital initiatives for an education-focused organization in Houston, Texas. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented individual who can build, enhance, and maintain web platforms that deliver reliable, accessible, and engaging user experiences. The role calls for strong front-end and CMS expertise, along with experience working across legacy and modern web technologies in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain web applications and site features using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and ASP.NET technologies.
Create and customize WordPress solutions, including theme updates, content components, and functionality improvements aligned with organizational needs.
Work with XML and XSLT to structure, transform, and present data across web-based systems and digital content platforms.
Support enhancements and ongoing maintenance for applications built with Adobe ColdFusion and related web technologies.
Partner with stakeholders to translate functional goals into scalable, user-friendly web solutions for education-related audiences.
Troubleshoot performance, compatibility, and usability issues while ensuring consistent behavior across browsers and devices.
Apply sound development practices for testing, debugging, code quality, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Contribute to web updates and technical tasks connected to broader platform or process changes when required.

Requirements

At least 5 years of hands-on experience in web development, including delivery of production-ready websites or applications.
Strong command of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for building responsive and maintainable user interfaces.
Hands-on experience with WordPress development, including customization and support of CMS-driven websites.
Working knowledge of ASP.NET and Adobe ColdFusion in web application development or maintenance environments.
Experience using XML and XSLT to manage and transform structured content or data.
Ability to diagnose technical issues, optimize site functionality, and deliver dependable solutions with minimal supervision.
Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional team settings.
Familiarity with CSM-related environments or workflows is preferred.
