Summary

This is a Contract-to-Hire (C2H) role with an initial contract duration of 6 months

 

This role is hands-on, delivery-focused, and suitable for a senior engineer who values clarity, reliability, and ownership. It is not a heavy SaaS or platform-engineering role, but strong architectural judgment is expected due to the system’s operational criticality.

Role Purpose Build and maintain a business-critical internal web application that manages client Procedure Master data and exposes it reliably to downstream operational workflows through APIs. This system is a core dependency for clinical, revenue, and productivity workflows and must be stable, highly available, and easy to support long-term.
 

Key Responsibilities 
 
  • Application Development - Build and maintain an internal web application supporting critical Procedure Master workflows. - Implement clear, intuitive UI workflows for managing procedure master data. - Own features end to end: UI → API → data persistence → deployment. - Use AI-based development tools to accelerate delivery without sacrificing quality.
  • Backend & API Engineering - Build and maintain secure, reliable REST APIs. - Implement backend business logic including validation, error handling, and basic caching. - Design clear, maintainable service endpoints. - Ensure graceful handling of degraded dependencies or outages.
  • Reliability & Support - Engineer for high availability and uptime expectations. - Implement logging, health checks, and basic monitoring. - Support production issues and routine enhancements. - Keep solutions simple and supportable long term.

Required Technical Skills

  • Backend - Strong experience in Java, Python, or Node.js. - Proven experience building REST APIs. - Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Azure SQL). - Ability to write clean, maintainable business logic.
  • Frontend - Experience building functional web UIs. - Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. - Experience with a modern framework (React preferred). - Focus on usability and clean UX patterns.
  • Cloud & Deployment - Experience deploying applications to Microsoft Azure. - Familiarity with Azure App Services or container-based deployment. - Understanding of application configuration, secrets, and environment promotion.
  • AI-Accelerated Development - Hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate coding, testing, refactoring, and documentation. - Ability to use AI responsibly in a healthcare environment.

Preferred Skills 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), OAuth2/OIDC, and role-based access. 
  • CI/CD experience using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. 
  • Docker and basic container orchestration (AKS is a plus). 
  • Healthcare or regulated data experience is a strong plus.
