Vega Consulting is Hiring! MicroStrategy Admin for our direct client located in Reston, VA. This is a hybrid position that will require candidates to travel to the client site located in Reston, VA at least once a month. Seeking candidates that live within a commutable distance to Reston, VA
MicroStrategy/BI Admin will be responsible for administering BI tools and integrate with Big Data in the Cloud. This is not a developer position or an analyst position.
Responsibilities:
- Help with performance tuning and develop best practices
- Provide support to cross teams and cross projects with deployment and upgrade including troubleshooting of incidents to maintain the required service level.
- Work on complex, major or highly visible tasks in support of multiple projects that require multiple areas of expertise in an Enterprise environment
- Set up and provide reports using PowerBI
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in administration and support of MicroStrategy
- 5+ years of experience with PowerBI
- MicroStrategy Customer Managed Cloud and AWS QuickSight hands on experience are pluses
- 5+ years of experience in a Linux and Apache processing environment
- 5+ years of experience with Unix shell scripting, SQL, PL/SQL
Hands on experience with Cloud/AWS Cloud such as AWS QuickSight, EKS, Redshift, Ansible, Terraform - Hands on experience with installation and configuration of MicroStrategy suite of products
- Good understanding of various tiers of MicroStrategy Architecture
Experience with securing MicroStrategy environment with authentication sources like LDAP/AD - Hands on experience with creating MicroStrategy user roles from LDAP groups and secure projects according to security guidelines.
- Hands experience with Administration tools like Developer, Object manager, Command Manager and Workstation
- Support all MicroStrategy configurations with new database technologies like Redshift, Aurora Postgres
- Working knowledge of server operating systems, server hardware primarily in RedHat Enterprise Linux
- Monitor MicroStrategy logs for warnings/error and take proactive action.
- Must be able to benchmark systems and analyze system bottlenecks in a hybrid environment and propose solutions to eliminate them.
- Ability to attend to high priority production support incidents and provide root cause.
- Ability to work and collaborate in a fast pace and multi-tasking in an Enterprise and virtual environment.
- Excellent communication and team-oriented individual
- Excellent in debugging, monitoring, and troubleshooting with across teams, with bug fixes, software upgrades and escalations.
- Experience with writing Shell/Python scripts (a plus).
- Certification for MicroStrategy (a plus).
- Certification for AWS (a plus).
