Location: Fremont, CA or Austin, TX – Remote

Job Overview

We are looking for a Junior/Associate Data Engineer to support the development of an AWS-based data management platform for a Biometric AI R&D team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with 3-5 years of experience who is interested in cloud technologies, AI, and data engineering.

Biometric experience is Preferred. The ideal candidate should have a Computer Science or Information Systems background with strong AWS fundamentals and hands-on project experience building cloud-based applications.

Key Responsibilities

Build an AWS-based data repository for AI research.
Develop and manage data storage using Amazon S3.
Design and maintain metadata tracking for datasets.
Build simple REST APIs to support internal applications.
Organize and prepare datasets for AI/ML engineers.
Develop lightweight internal tools for data management.
Support cloud application development and data workflows.

Required Skills

3-5 years of experience in software or data engineering.
Strong understanding of AWS fundamentals.
Experience with Amazon S3.
Python programming experience.
Basic knowledge of REST APIs.
Familiarity with Git/GitHub.
Understanding of data management concepts.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Knowledge of AWS Lambda, API Gateway, or DynamoDB.
Exposure to AI/ML projects.
Familiarity with SQL.
Personal, academic, or internship projects involving cloud application development.
