Position Summary

Unison Systems is looking for a skilled Scrum Master for our client located in Englewood, CO. In this role, you will lead high-performing Agile teams to self-organize and deliver with excellence across the organization's technology teams. You will leverage AI-powered tools and data-driven insights to optimize team velocity, surface impediments early, and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively monitor deadlines, prevent slippage, and take action to meet or exceed all target dates for technology efforts.
  • Lead implementation activities to ensure business objectives are met, promoting common understanding of timelines, milestones, and reporting to align partners and team members.
  • Partner with Product Owners and the PMO to determine prioritization, funding, and allocation of resources across new and active projects.
  • Own team performance metrics end-to-end-design, track, and report on sprint velocity, throughput, cycle time, defect rates, and predictability-and present data-driven insights in sprint reviews and stakeholder forums.
  • Build and maintain Jira dashboards tracking sprint health, capacity, and KPIs such as commitment accuracy, escaped defects, burn rate, and team happiness scores, escalating when trends signal risk.
  • Drive continuous improvement through retrospective data analysis, converting findings on blockers and rework into actionable items and delivering AI-summarized status reports.
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance Agile ceremonies and promote team AI literacy, coaching members on responsible use of tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, and AI-assisted documentation.
  • Integrate AI-generated insights into backlog refinement to help Product Owners identify story gaps, surface dependencies, and estimate complexity more accurately.
  • Set up, facilitate, and maintain all Scrum ceremonies while supporting and educating Product Owners on prioritization, grooming, and backlog management.
  • Provide servant leadership, facilitate decision-making and conflict resolution, and guide teams toward self-organization while removing impediments using trend data and AI-assisted pattern recognition.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS, or a related field, or equivalent experience in IT/software development and program/project management.
  • 4+ years' experience as a Scrum Master in IT-heavy organizations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Agile SDLC models (Scrum, Kanban) and experience with Agile planning in Jira.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, track, and present team performance metrics across multiple concurrent squads.
  • Strong project leadership skills-identifies, prioritizes, schedules, and closes projects with a high degree of initiative and sense of urgency.
  • Strong analytical and facilitation skills, with the ability to critically evaluate information from multiple sources and decompose complex requirements into actionable details.
  • Excellent listening, observational, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to resolve conflicts among team members and partners.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to work across all levels including senior IT management.
  • Strong understanding of IT planning, reporting concepts, and policies, plus general knowledge of factors affecting business.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
  • Agile certification (CSM, SAFe SM, or PSM).
  • Experience with AI-assisted Agile tooling and proficiency with tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude/ChatGPT, and Jira Automation.
  • Experience building and presenting team performance dashboards and metrics reports to senior leadership.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts as they apply to software delivery and product development.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Jira dashboards, Power BI, or similar) for team health and metrics visibility.
