Job Title: Routing & Switching (R/S) Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Routing & Switching (R/S) Engineer to join our networking team. This role will focus on the deployment, testing, and optimization of our data center network infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong experience in Cisco networking and familiarity with Arista platforms.

You will play a critical role in maintaining and upgrading a high-performance network environment, ensuring uptime, reliability, and scalability for enterprise workloads.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform network cuts and testing during upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.

  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Top-of-Rack (TOR) switches.

  • Add uplinks and support data center connectivity expansion projects.

  • Perform switch platform upgrades, including Cisco 7280 R2 to R3 migration.

  • Operate and manage a variety of switch speeds, including 10Gb, 25Gb, and 30Gb links.

  • Validate network performance, redundancy, and failover.

  • Work closely with other network engineers, system administrators, and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and integration.

  • Document configurations, network diagrams, and test results for auditing and operational purposes.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking hardware, including configuration and troubleshooting of TOR and spine switches.

  • Familiarity with Arista switches is a plus.

  • Experience with 48-port SFP switches and high-speed uplinks (10Gb, 25Gb, 30Gb).

  • Knowledge of data center network architectures and switch upgrade processes.

  • Ability to perform network cuts and testing, including validation of connectivity and performance.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a high-availability environment.

  • Effective communication skills for coordination with multiple teams.


Network Environment:

  • Approximately 400 switches in total.

  • Primary hardware: Cisco 7280 R2/R3 platforms.

  • Mix of 48-port SFP switches, with speeds ranging from 10Gb to 30Gb.

  • Data center TOR architecture with a focus on high-speed uplinks.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise or equivalent.

  • Experience with data center automation tools or scripting.

  • Familiarity with network monitoring and logging tools.
