Summary

Software Engineer/Software Developer

SITEC Consulting is seeking a Software Engineer/Software Developer to support a high-visibility Department of Defense mission-planning software program. This position will focus on developing, sustaining, modernizing, testing, and improving mission-critical software capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and sustain software applications.
  • Analyze software requirements, defects, and proposed enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective resolutions.
  • Support software modernization, migration, integration, and performance-improvement efforts.
  • Participate in Agile activities, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and capability demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, cybersecurity personnel, and government stakeholders.
  • Support DevSecOps practices, automated testing, and software delivery processes.
  • Maintain code, configuration items, and software documentation.
  • Assist with technical risk identification and mitigation.
  • Contribute to software quality, security, and continuous process improvement.
  • Willingness to travel periodically (If Necessary).

Qualifications

Must have at least 6 years of experience with the following:
  • Experience developing or sustaining mission-critical, federal, or DoD software applications.
  • Strong understanding of software design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Experience working within Agile software-development environments.
  • DevSecOps, configuration management, defect tracking, and version-control practices.
  • Troubleshooting, communication, and technical-documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams.

Experience with mission-planning software, software modernization, secure software development, automated testing, or cloud-based development environments is preferred.
