IT Field Technician

Description

We are looking for an experienced IT Field Technician to join our team in Schaumburg, Illinois. This is a long-term contract position that involves supporting multiple branches in the surrounding area. The role requires a mix of on-site work at the main office and travel to local branches, offering an opportunity to engage directly with users and resolve technical issues.

Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to multiple branch locations, addressing hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Perform troubleshooting tasks such as password resets, printer problem resolution, and basic network diagnostics.
Set up and configure computers and associated hardware for end users.
Ensure excellent customer service by managing user inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Travel to branch locations within the designated area to provide on-site IT assistance.
Maintain and update hardware systems as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with other IT team members to implement solutions and improve processes.
Document technical issues and their resolutions for reference and reporting purposes.
Manage inventory of IT equipment and ensure proper allocation across branches.
Follow company protocols and guidelines while addressing technical challenges.

Requirements

Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with users.
Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware issues, including printers, computers, and network connectivity.
Familiarity with performing password resets and basic troubleshooting tasks.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the designated area.
Ability to set up and configure computer systems and peripherals.
Basic knowledge of network and hardware systems.
Previous experience in IT support or a similar role.
Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
