Position OverviewAre you ready to evolve from a technical designer into a strategic project leader? We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to anchor our MEP operations across our key hubs in Orlando, Phoenix, Ambler, and Boston. In this role, you will do more than just calculate loads; you will architect the climate and life-safety systems that define modern built environments. Core Responsibilities- Systems Architecture: Lead the design and development of complex HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, ensuring every element is precise, efficient, and integrated.
- Project Stewardship: Navigate the full project lifecycle, managing timelines and design communications to ensure deliverables exceed client expectations and technical requirements.
- Strategic Consultation: Act as the primary technical liaison in client meetings, providing expert guidance on codes, standards, site surveys, and construction administration.
- Technical Excellence: Execute rigorous QA/QC processes and produce high-fidelity construction documents, load calculations, and specifications ready for permitting.
- Collaborative Leadership: Onboard and mentor junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and engineering excellence.
- Pre-Construction Strategy: Support the preparation of engineering agreements and proposals, aligning technical scope with the firm's standards and project goals.
- Workflow Innovation: Collaborate with internal multidisciplinary teams to refine workflows, optimize cost management, and drive overall project efficiency.
Required Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 3-5+ years of progressive experience within a mechanical engineering or MEP consulting environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced command of Revit and AutoCAD for the production of complex construction documents.
- Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of HVAC fundamentals, engineering drafting standards, and building codes.
- Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications- Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification on track for licensure.
- Project Leadership: Proven experience managing multidisciplinary coordination and complex project schedules.
- Advanced Systems: Specialized knowledge in high-efficiency HVAC design and integrated fire protection systems.
