Job#: 3046183 Job Description: Product Engineer
Location: San Francisco, California (Partial Remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking product engineers to build internal products. This role is positioned at the intersection of engineering, product, and design, where you will own outcomes, not just tasks. You will work directly with users to understand their needs, identify patterns behind their requests, and construct abstractions that unlock new capabilities for everyone.
Key Responsibilities
- Rapidly design, prototype, and ship full-stack features across the backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
- Consult with users and stakeholders to understand workflows and identify the highest-impact opportunities.
- Identify patterns across user requests and develop them into primitives, platforms, or middleware that support a variety of use cases.
- Build tools that maximize autonomy and creative freedom for less-technical users.
- Make product and prioritization decisions, not just execute on provided specifications.
- Iterate quickly based on feedback to continuously improve the user experience.
- Adopt new tools, frameworks, and domains as the product evolves.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have 6+ years of experience in building production software, ideally with a full-stack background.
Technical Skills: Candidates should be proficient across the stack, including Python, TypeScript, and React.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building platforms, primitives, or internal tools that others build upon.
- A track record of shipping products independently, not just contributing to larger efforts.
- Ability to operate as a team of one when needed, independently taking a product from idea to shipment.
- Aptitude for thinking in systems and abstractions.
- A focus on empowering users, not just building for them.
- A sense of ownership for outcomes, ensuring that solutions solve the intended problem.
- Comfort with making decisions with incomplete information and operating with ambiguity.
- A commitment to maintaining a high standard of work without needing external pressure.
