About the Role

We are seeking a skilled DevOps / Platform Engineer with strong Java development experience and telecommunications domain knowledge. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable Java applications, supporting microservices-based architectures, improving application performance, and promoting code quality and automation across the software delivery lifecycle.

The candidate should have strong debugging and problem-solving skills, experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, and the ability to investigate application issues using logs, error messages, and diagnostic tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code.

• Build and support production-scale web applications and REST APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.

• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, quality, and responsiveness.

• Develop and maintain web application components using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and AngularJS.

• Investigate application issues using logs, error messages, and debugging tools to identify root causes.

• Write and maintain unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.

• Implement logging practices using Log4j 2 and follow established coding and quality standards.

• Develop and maintain database scripts, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

• Use Git, SVN, or other version control tools to manage source code and support team collaboration.

• Identify opportunities to improve development automation, code quality, and delivery efficiency.

• Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and platform teams to support reliable application delivery.

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems and support production troubleshooting.

• Apply telecommunications domain knowledge to understand business requirements, application workflows, and operational needs.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Java development.

• Experience developing web applications and REST APIs using Spring Boot and microservices.

• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and AngularJS.

• Experience with Git, SVN, or equivalent version control tools.

• Hands-on experience writing unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.

• Experience with Log4j 2 or equivalent application logging practices.

• Strong SQL and database development skills, including scripts, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.

• Understanding of code quality, software engineering best practices, and development automation.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

• Telecommunications domain experience is mandatory.

• DevOps / Platform Engineering experience is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting production-scale applications and microservices.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and deployment processes.

• Familiarity with application monitoring, log analysis, and production support.

• Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
