Ideal Candidate Profile
This is a hybrid role requiring strong hands-on technical expertise, sound business acumen, and excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills. Candidates with 12–15 years of relevant experience would be an ideal fit.
Purpose of the Position
The Client Technology Lead - Data, Analytics & AI will serve as the onsite technical delivery anchor across a portfolio of client accounts. The role is designed for a practical, client-facing technology professional who can coordinate delivery, contribute meaningfully to technical conversations, and translate loosely defined needs into executable work. The individual will connect client stakeholders with distributed delivery teams, support discovery and assessment exercises, prepare estimates, and step in hands-on when needed to validate a solution, dashboard, data flow, semantic model, or rapid proof of concept.
This is not a deep specialist role across every technology. Success requires broad technical credibility, sound delivery judgment, commercial awareness, and the ability to bring the right specialist into the conversation when deeper expertise is required.
Primary Role Outcomes
Provide a dependable onsite point of ownership for technical coordination and day-to-day delivery alignment across multiple accounts.
Contribute credibly to client conversations across data engineering, analytics and BI (including semantic models), and AI (including GenAI and agentic AI).
Convert client asks into structured requirements, solution options, effort estimates, assumptions, dependencies, and next steps.
Run focused discovery and assessment exercises and produce clear findings, recommendations, roadmaps, and work packages.
Demonstrate ideas quickly through lightweight POCs or POVs, independently or with support from specialist teams.
Improve continuity between client conversations, solutioning, estimation, mobilization, and offshore execution.
Key Result Areas and Activities
1. Onsite Delivery Anchor and Coordination
Act as the onsite coordination point between client stakeholders, account leadership, and distributed delivery teams.
Drive clarity around priorities, requirements, decisions, dependencies, risks, and next actions, ensuring timely closure and escalation where required.
Maintain continuity between client discussions and delivery execution, so teams understand both the requirement and the underlying business objective.
2. Technical Participation Across Data, Analytics and AI
Participate effectively in requirement, design, solution, and delivery discussions across data engineering, analytics and BI (including semantic models), and AI (including GenAI and agentic AI).
Understand data platforms, pipelines, reporting ecosystems, semantic models, dashboards, APIs, and modern AI capabilities well enough to ask the right questions, identify gaps, and evaluate trade-offs.
Bring in capability specialists when deeper expertise is required while continuing to retain ownership of client context and solution progression.
3. Discovery, Consulting and Assessments
Plan and facilitate discovery workshops with business and technology stakeholders to understand priorities, pain points, constraints, and opportunities.
Assess current-state processes, data landscapes, reporting ecosystems, and technology environments, synthesizing findings into actionable recommendations.
Produce concise findings, roadmaps, recommendations, and next-step work packages suitable for both business and technical audiences.
4. Solution Shaping and Estimation
Translate client needs into practical solution approaches, deliverables, assumptions, risks, dependencies, and work packages.
Prepare and validate estimates, staffing approaches, timelines, and implementation considerations in collaboration with delivery and capability teams.
Build or coordinate lightweight POCs, POVs, demonstrations, and validation exercises where required to make proposed approaches tangible and support client decision-making.
5. Multi-Account and Client Communication
Work across multiple client accounts based on delivery priorities, opportunity value, and portfolio needs.
Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders, technology leaders, product owners, and delivery teams through responsiveness, clarity, and sound judgment.
Maintain an operational view of active initiatives, client priorities, risks, opportunities, and next actions across the portfolio.
Experience, Skills and Personal Attributes
10+ years of experience across data, analytics, AI, solutioning, consulting, or technology delivery roles with meaningful client-facing responsibility.
Broad understanding of data engineering concepts, including ingestion, ETL/ELT, orchestration, data modeling, APIs, cloud data platforms, warehouses or lakehouses, security, and operational considerations.
Strong understanding of analytics and BI ecosystems, including KPIs, reporting, dashboards, dimensional models, semantic models, reusable business logic, governance, and self-service analytics.
Practical understanding of AI capabilities, including machine learning, GenAI, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic AI, responsible AI, and production considerations.
Experience contributing to discovery workshops, assessments, solution definition, estimation exercises, proposals, mobilization, and delivery planning.
Hands-on capability to review data, SQL, dashboards, semantic models, notebooks, technical artifacts, prototypes, and proof-of-concept solutions when required.
Exposure to modern ecosystems such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable platforms.
Experience in retail, consumer, supply chain, merchandising, customer, finance, or enterprise operations use cases is preferred.
Street-smart and situationally aware, with the ability to navigate stakeholder dynamics and move conversations toward practical outcomes.
Commercially aware and capable of balancing client expectations, delivery feasibility, timeline, scope, team shape, and cost considerations.
Hands-on and resourceful, with the willingness to inspect details, test an idea, or build a lightweight prototype when needed.
Comfortable operating in ambiguous situations while bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to discussions and engagements.
Low ego and high ownership, with the ability to coordinate across teams and remain accountable through closure.
Ability to travel and operate across multiple client accounts and time zones.
