Description:The Full Stack Software Engineer will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting scalable API-driven solutions that power the Customer Experience Platform, Chatbot, and critical support applications such as the support hotline.
This role combines full-stack development, cloud engineering, microservices architecture, and AI-enabled chatbot integration to deliver high-quality, customer-focused solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, cloud-native development, modern front-end frameworks, and APIs that support connected vehicle experiences and dealer operations.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid - 4 days per week onsite
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs supporting the Customer Experience Platform.
- Build and enhance customer-facing and internal applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, React, and cloud-native technologies.
- Architect and implement microservices that support high-volume connected vehicle interactions and customer engagement solutions.
- Develop and maintain APIs that enable seamless communication between connected vehicles, dealer systems, and customer applications.
- Design and optimize cloud-native solutions utilizing Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and AWS services.
- Support and troubleshoot dealer-reported issues through the Support Hotline, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Ensure service-level objectives are met, including targeted case resolution timelines and operational support metrics.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, enhancements, and development activities within Jira and related tools.
- Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities to enhance chatbot accuracy using Ford technical documentation, owner manuals, and knowledge repositories.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, security, and operations teams to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable solutions.
- Perform security validation and API governance activities, ensuring compliance with Ford standards and security requirements.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, testing activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop automated testing strategies and deployment processes that support rapid and reliable software delivery.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of software development experience with Java.
- 3+ years of experience developing applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
- Experience building and supporting RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Experience developing cloud-native applications utilizing Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), AWS, or similar cloud platforms.
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks, including:
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing practices.
- Experience using software development lifecycle tools, including:
- Jira
- GitHub
- Jenkins
- Tekton
- GitHub Actions
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, API design, and secure development principles.
- Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
- Experience designing and implementing microservices in large-scale distributed environments.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled chatbot solutions and Natural Language Understanding (NLU) concepts.
- Experience implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns.
- Knowledge of API governance and security validation tools such as 42Crunch.
- Experience within connected vehicle, automotive, mobility, or customer experience platforms.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, scalability, and performance optimization.
