The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, operational discipline, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) solutions across physical and VMware environments.
  • Manage provisioning and lifecycle operations, including LUN/volume allocation, host mapping, masking, and expansion.
  • Manage and optimize advanced NAS platforms and file services using NFS (v3/v4) and autofs within Kerberos-enabled enterprise environments.
  • Monitor and optimize Linux system performance, availability, and capacity using modern toolsets like Prometheus and Grafana
  • Execute Business-As-Usual (BAU) changes in strict alignment with enterprise change, incident, and service management processes.
  • Support disaster recovery operations, including automated system replication, failover testing, and rapid incident response.
  • Perform RHEL updates, firmware upgrades, and maintenance via Red Hat Satellite in accordance with strict compliance and lifecycle standards.
  • Ensure strict compliance with security requirements, including OS hardening, SELinux configuration, vulnerability remediation, and audit support.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, system runbooks, and CMDB/inventory records.
  • Provide OS-level capacity planning, performance forecasting, and resource utilization reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with dedicated storage, virtualization (VMware), backup, and cloud teams.
  • Lead Linux operating system upgrades, server migrations, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
  • Participate in the team on-call rotation and provide Tier-3 technical support for critical incidents.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of enterprise Linux administration (specifically RHEL) experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing and configuring RHEL workloads within VMware vSphere and cloud environments.
  • Solid understanding of Linux networking, multipathing, NFS, autofs, and connecting Linux hosts to SAN/NAS backends.
  • Direct experience engineering and maintaining system configurations using Puppet and Ansible.
  • Strong proficiency in Shell scripting and Ansible to automate routine administrative tasks.
  • Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery concepts.
  • Operational experience working within ITIL frameworks (change management, incident management, ServiceNow).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate across infrastructure silos

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Hat Certifications: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA).
  • VMware Certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Experience integrating or migrating on-premises Linux workloads with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
  • Large-Scale Operations: Proven experience operating in large, highly regulated enterprise data center environments.
