Job Description:
Client is looking for a Lead Performance Engineer who understands methods and tools to solve complex performance and stability issues and to innovate new methods and reports that provide value to the organization. The job responsibilities include collaborating and partnering across the entire organization.
As a member of the performance engineering team, the job role is both technically competent and business oriented, and strong understanding of the following:
Frameworks & Infrastructure: Establish and enhance application performance testing framework and infrastructure and provide actionable metrics and reports to help identify performance bottlenecks and issues.
Architecture Knowledge: Thorough understanding of microservices architecture on Docker, Container and Kubernetes infrastructure.
Testing & Automation: Expertise in creating performance test cases and test suites using performance tools like JMeter or similar tools and using pipelines to trigger the tests.
Methodology & Analytics: Build and improve standard methodology for performance, load, stress, and chaos, along with analytics and reporting based on business requirements.
Observability: Expertise in building Datadog dashboards for better visibility and observability.
Domain Knowledge: Sophisticated knowledge in performance engineering area.
Provide performance tuning recommendations to development teams as needed.
Required Skills
Experience: 10-15 years of IT experience with 10 years in performance engineering and analysis.
Benchmarking Tools: Experience in software performance benchmarking tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Akamai CloudTest, and K6
Monitoring & Observability: Experience in monitoring and observability tools like Splunk and Datadog.
Cloud Environments: Experience in migrating and tuning cloud-based applications both in AWS and Azure.
DevOps & CI/CD: Experience on environment focused on agile software development, DevOps, and CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins and GitHub or Bitbucket.
Programming Languages: Intermediate experience with Java and Python.
Operating Systems: Experience with Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems.
Communication: Must have crisp, clear communication skills to all levels of interaction (technical, non-technical, and all levels of management).
Performance Optimization: Identifying bottlenecks and providing tuning recommendations to help improve performance of the application to enhance stability and availability of applications.
Maintenance & Monitoring: Development, Maintenance and Monitoring existing test suites and observability dashboards.
