AWS Architect
Location: Houston TX (Hybrid - first week 3 days and second week 2 days, and so on.)
Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a skilled AWS Architect who has experience working with EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC, IAM, Route 53, Lambda, API Gateway and Glue.
Please consider local candidates (in Houston TX) only. The candidate needs to go to the Woodlands office 2-3 days every week, something like first week 3 days and second week 2 days.
We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to design, implement, and govern scalable, secure, and reliable AWS cloud architectures. The role focuses on enterprise level cloud strategy, infrastructure design, security, and operational excellence while enabling development teams to build and deploy cloud native applications effectively.
The ideal candidate has deep AWS expertise, strong architecture design skills, and experience defining cloud governance, security guardrails, and best practices across multiple cloud workloads.
Responsibilities
- Design end to end AWS cloud architecture for enterprise and large scale applications
- Define multi account AWS strategy using AWS Organizations and Control Tower
- Design highly available, fault tolerant, and scalable architectures
- Create architecture blueprints, reference architectures, and design patterns
- Define cloud security architecture following AWS Well Architected Framework
- Implement - IAM policies and roles at scale, Network security (VPC, security groups, NACLs) and Encryption (KMS, TLS, secrets management)
- Enforce governance, compliance, and security guardrails
- Support compliance standards (ISO, SOC2, HIPAA, PCI DSS as applicable)
- Design and manage - VPC architectures, Transit Gateway, Site to Site VPN, Direct Connect etc.
- Support hybrid and multi cloud connectivity
- Implement network segmentation and traffic control
- Define standards for Infrastructure as Code (Iac) and Implement IaC using - AWS CloudFormation or Terraform
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and environment setup
- Ensure consistency across dev, test, and production environments
- Design cloud native CI/CD pipelines
- Apply AWS Well Architected Framework (Cost, Security, Reliability, Performance)
- Optimize AWS spend using cost governance and FinOps practices
- Conduct architecture reviews and performance tuning
- Act as a technical advisor to development and operations teams
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience AWS Architecture
- Strong hands on experience with AWS services
- EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB
- VPC, IAM, Route 53
- Lambda, API Gateway
- ECS / EKS
- Advanced AWS networking and security knowledge
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery architectures
- Experience designing cloud platforms and landing zones
- Experience in large scale cloud migrations preferred
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of data quality, metadata management, and performance tuning.
- Excellent communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience/knowledge of SAP and Salesforce data sources is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional (or Associate)
