IT Systems Administrator | Grand Rapids, MI

Salary Range: $76,000 - $116,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Grand Rapids that are seeking skilled IT Systems Administrators. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain server infrastructure (physical and virtual) for production and business systems.
• Administer and support network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and wireless access points across manufacturing sites.
• Implement and manage cybersecurity measures, including intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning, and access controls for operational technology (OT) and IT systems.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues affecting manufacturing operations.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
• Monitor system performance and capacity, ensuring high availability and reliability of critical manufacturing systems.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience as an IT Systems Administrator in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Windows Server environments (2016 or newer), Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
• Demonstrated experience with virtualization technologies (VMware preferred) and storage solutions (SAN/NAS).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless technologies in an operational technology (OT) environment.
• Experience with industrial control systems (ICS) or SCADA systems and their integration with IT infrastructure.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SCADA or MES systems.
• Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in an OT environment.
• Experience supporting ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle EBS).
