RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Technician in Ocoee, FL.
Summary:
The Network Technician is responsible for the support, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise network systems, including wired and wireless environments. This role proactively monitors network performance, configures and troubleshoots network infrastructure, and ensures reliable connectivity across multiple locations. The position requires regular onsite travel and participation in an after-hours on-call rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Configure, manage, and maintain network switch startup and running configurations
* Perform end-to-end network configurations (DMARC to workstation), including fiber distribution, routers, switches, DHCP, and topology design to support high QoS
* Monitor protocol compatibility, perform system tuning, and recommend performance improvements
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain LAN, WLAN, and WAN infrastructure using remote monitoring tools
* Conduct capacity planning, risk assessments, and contingency planning
* Apply OSI model concepts to support data flow and troubleshooting across the environment
* Coordinate with Information Security teams on firewall rules for new equipment and applications
* Utilize network management tools to identify and resolve network faults
* Track incidents, assets, and equipment transfers using service desk ticketing systems
* Travel onsite to resolve issues and support deployments across multiple locations
* Participate in after-hours (evening and weekend) on-call rotation
* Follow departmental procedures, policies, and documentation standards
* Perform additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
* High School diploma or equivalent required
* Hands-on experience supporting enterprise network environments
* Strong knowledge of LAN/WLAN/WAN technologies
* Experience configuring and supporting routers, switches, and network hardware
* Working knowledge of Windows 11, Active Directory, and MECM
* Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools
* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or within a team
* Comfortable working in high-pressure, operational environments
* Willingness to travel regularly; Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Certifications preferred:
* CompTIA Network+
* CompTIA Security+
* Cisco CCNA
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with HPE/Aruba networking equipment
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
