Duration: 5+ Month Contract
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join the Enterprise Systems Portfolio supporting a large wealth management organization. In this role, you will translate product vision and strategy into an actionable backlog and lead day-to-day delivery of innovative generative AI and agentic AI solutions. These solutions will help Financial Advisors access information faster, automate routine tasks, surface relevant insights, and deliver more personalized client experiences. This is an opportunity to shape the next generation of enterprise AI in a highly visible, regulated environment where innovation, delivery discipline, user trust, and measurable business value are equally important.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy, Backlog Ownership, and Prioritization
•Own and continuously manage the product backlog for assigned product areas and value streams.
•Translate portfolio and product strategy into prioritized features, use cases, user stories, and enablers.
•Define clear acceptance criteria, nonfunctional requirements, control requirements, and readiness standards.
•Lead backlog refinement with engineers, business analysts, and delivery partners.
•Partner with technical leads and architects to understand solution constraints, sequencing, dependencies, and technical enablers.
•Prioritize work based on customer and advisor value, business objectives, technical feasibility, risk, dependencies, and market needs.
Discovery, Business Value, and Outcomes
•Identify and size opportunities in partnership with business and technology stakeholders.
•Document problem statements, value hypotheses, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and key decision points.
•Support business cases and prioritization decisions with clear evidence and value narratives.
•Define and socialize success metrics for product and backlog outcomes, including adoption, usability, cycle time, quality, and defect trends.
•Evaluate post-release outcomes using data and stakeholder feedback, and adjust priorities accordingly.
Agile Delivery and Program Execution
•Translate product intent into clear Sprint Goals, outcomes, and definitions of success.
•Enable sprint and Program Increment execution by resolving ambiguity, making timely scope trade-offs, and maintaining a decision log.
•Support PI Planning by presenting team scope, negotiating dependencies, and developing capacity-based scope and PI Objective inputs.
•Ensure the backlog remains refined, sized, dependency-aware, and ready for upcoming sprints and releases.
•Coordinate testing, acceptance, release readiness, operational handoffs, and production feedback loops.
•Manage scope changes and convert Sprint Review and delivery learnings into backlog updates and process improvements.
Stakeholder Alignment and Governance
•Drive clarity and alignment across business, technology, operations, compliance, legal, risk, and other stakeholders.
•Communicate backlog priorities, delivery progress, risks, impediments, dependencies, and scope decisions to ART stakeholders and product leadership.
•Support responsible AI governance, control documentation, and requirements related to privacy, security, compliance, auditability, and user trust.
•Remove delivery blockers and facilitate timely decisions across teams and organizational boundaries.
•Promote continuous improvement in product discovery, delivery, quality, and stakeholder engagement.
Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
•At least two years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Delivery Manager, Business Analyst, or similar role delivering enterprise-grade AI or technology solutions.
•Experience delivering generative AI solutions using large language models, APIs, orchestration tools, or agent frameworks.
•Experience implementing retrieval-augmented generation solutions grounded in trusted enterprise content, client data, or advisor-facing knowledge sources.
•Working knowledge of knowledge engineering, prompt engineering, and AI evaluation frameworks such as DeepEval.
•Experience owning and managing a product backlog for one or more Agile teams, including prioritization, refinement, release planning, and dependency management.
•Ability to translate product goals into well-defined features, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery-ready requirements.
•Ability to define and track outcome and delivery metrics and use insights to refine product priorities.
•Strong decision-making skills, including the ability to balance user value, business objectives, technical feasibility, and financial-services constraints.
•Demonstrated ability to influence without authority across business, engineering, operations, compliance, legal, and risk stakeholders.
•Excellent communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and drive decisions.
•Practical experience with Agile delivery methods, including Scrum or Kanban.
•Familiarity with product delivery and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Aha!, Mural, or Asana.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience with CRM platforms, particularly Salesforce.
•Experience working in wealth management, financial services, or another highly regulated industry.
•Experience supporting responsible AI governance and documentation for AI or agentic AI systems.
•Experience with SAFe, Agile Release Trains, PI Planning, and Program Increment execution.
•Generative AI or agentic AI certifications.
•Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into practical, scalable AI solutions.
•Curiosity and adaptability in a rapidly evolving AI landscape.
•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to quality, reliability, and user trust.
